So, the next morning he came over with his video gear and we filmed. When we started, I was still nervous, but when he called me Marbara, it kind of broke the ice. He said, "Did I just call you Marbara?" LOL Then we started again. He first asked me questions while we were standing outside The Palms, then we went inside and I gave him a tour - for you guys. :)
When we're in the kitchen, notice the beautiful views out the windows - that's what it's all about! This is the BLM campground in Camp Verde, AZ where all the cattle were roaming around, and where the hot air balloons were flying overhead and landing nearby. And listen carefully - you might hear a cow in the background. You might also hear Cody and Katie "talking." Katie was right outside the door in her fenced-in area, and I think they were talking to each other.
I think Bob did an excellent job - he made me feel very comfortable. I really enjoyed showing off The Palms, which - as you all know - I just love.
Thanks, Bob, for including me in your videos and also making it so easy for me.
I enjoyed reading all the comments after I watched the video - there were a lot of them and people seemed to like The Palms, too. Thank you all for the kind words. :)
So, if you're interested in watching - here's the link to click on, the title says it all:
Barbara Living Full-Time in her Class C, and Loving it!!
If you watch it, please leave a comment for Bob - and one for me here, too. I'd love to hear what you thought. :)
IN MY HUMBLE OPINION "NO ONE EVER LOOKED SO GOOD" TRAVELING IN STYLE.
ReplyDeleteThanks, JB - you're so sweet! :)
DeleteI loved the video and have bookmarked your blog! You. And I have a lot in common!
ReplyDeletePhyllis, thanks! Maybe we'll meet up some day and compare notes! :)
DeleteBarbara, I have followed your blog from the beginning and it was really wonderful seeing this video. I remember when your son built the pantry and you discovered the road runner. :) I used to be a full-timer and now I live vicariously thru your blog (and a few others). Thanks so much for sharing.
ReplyDeleteThanks for following along for such a long time, JunieLou! Yes, this pantry is such a blessing, and the road runner in the wood is amazing, isn't it? I'm glad I got to show him in the video. :)
DeleteGreat video! Thanks for giving us the tour of your lovely home.
ReplyDeleteHi AZDonna - Thanks, and you're welcome, I'm glad you enjoyed it. :)
DeleteThanks for taking the time to make the video. I've been reading your blog for a couple of years and I want to grow up to be just like you. I love the palms. It looks to be the ideal rig and I do love the kitchen in the back. Thanks for sharing your life with us. Nora
ReplyDeleteThanks, Nora! The Palms is perfect for me, and I do love the kitchen. It's a great life. :)
DeleteGreat video, Barbara. It's hard to believe that it has been 5 years that we have been full timing. Say to Katie for Angel
ReplyDeleteHey, Susan, yes, hard to believe! The time has just flown by, hasn't it? I remember our nice visit in Quartzsite when we were just starting out. Give darling Angel a hug from me and Katie. :)
DeleteWonderful interview Barbara and now I can tell folks I knew you before you became a movie star.
ReplyDeleteHey, John! I was recently back in Elephant Butte, where we met, but the heat drove me away AGAIN! I hope all is well with you. :)
DeleteThanks for sharing the video. I have missed your postings.
ReplyDeleteHi Sherry - you're welcome! I know, I guess I just needed a little break and haven't been posting as much. I have lots of photos waiting, though, so I'll be doing more for a while again. :)
DeleteGlad to have you back ! Love the photo above. It's a nice introduction ... people just don't understand how we love what we do ... now to check out your video !!
ReplyDeleteHi Jeri! I know, it's hard to "get it" unless you do it. I knew I wanted to try this lifestyle, but had no idea how I'd do. I lucked out - got the right rig, met a lot of wonderful people, and it's still working for me. Hope you enjoyed the video. :)
DeleteWhat a great tour! You are so articulate, didn't seem at all nervous, and damn it, you don't look old enough to be retired! I just love the Palms and am glad to finally get a look inside.
ReplyDeleteI "liked" the video but can't comment unless I get an account. I attempted to get one about a year ago and it was so much hassle, plus they wanted to "create a channel" for me, so I just don't comment on youtubes anymore.
Hey, Marty - OMG, I love your comment! I was actually very nervous and wonder if Bob has a filter on his camera, LOL. I had to think for a minute, but I guess you've never been in The Palms because we haven't met in person. I feel like I know you. Glad you liked The Palms. And thanks for "liking" the video! :)
DeleteRunning out of data so I'll have to check out the video later. But I've always loved The Palms. You have made it into such a great home.
ReplyDeleteHi Sandie, thanks for your comment. I hope things are working out with the house. If it's not one thing, it's another, right? Hopefully things settle down for you soon. Enjoy the video when you get a chance to see it. :)
DeleteA great blog post today... it was almost like we got to meet in person and I enjoyed seeing Katie in person too thanks for sharing...
ReplyDeleteThanks, Donna. I probably should have brought Katie in the house, but it seemed easier to have her in her little fenced area outside. But at least she's at the very start of the tour. Glad you enjoyed the video! :)
DeleteWow Barbara, this is great! I am parked next to Bob and Judy now at the RTR in Flag. I will tell him tomorrow what a great job he did. And you my dear look fantastic! When I first started following your blog in 2011, you had short hair. I'm glad I watched this video or I wouldn't recognize you if our paths ever cross - which I hope they do. HugZ to you and Katie from me, Nonni & Bentley.
ReplyDeleteHi Debra! I know - my hair is so long now. One VERY BAD haircut a few years ago, and I decided NO MORE HAIRCUTS. I think I look better with short hair, but... I have to say long hair is so easy. I was surprised. People usually recognize me after they see Katie. LOL Have a great time at the RTR. I'll bet the weather there is perfect right now. :)
DeleteAs I was watching and you were talking about your first trip, up the coast and then down into AZ, little bells were going off in my head, & I thought I know who this is, the one with Katie, the dog! Your blog was the first one I found when I started thinking of getting an RV when I retire. I learned so much, going back to the beginning of your blog and reading it all, and taking notes. I retire in 20 months and am paying off everything so I will be debt free when I buy my RV and hit the road with my small dogs. I'm going to travel more than you do but spend the a lot of time like you in AZ & NM. I'm from the North East & I am so ready to get away from winters. You don't write in your blog as often anymore but I do want to thank you for the blueprint of my dreams and I will avoid some pitfalls that newbies make because of reading your blog. I love your little Katie.
ReplyDeleteCheryl, I'm so happy to hear your story. I did the exact thing with a couple of blogs I started following long before I got The Palms and started full-timing. Since you started reading blogs early, you'll be ahead of the game when you head out. Good luck - I hope we meet up down the road. :)
DeleteYou are a movie star! Love, love that video and you are looking terrific! Thanks for sharing this.
ReplyDeleteHi Bea - thanks for your comment. I miss seeing you and Peter and Molly at Hot Springs, and hope you'll be back this year. I'm glad you enjoyed the video - Bob does a great job!
DeleteSo, you are a movie star now.
ReplyDeleteHey, Dizzy! How are you?? I hope you're starting to feel better. Thanks for watching the video! :)
DeleteYou and Bob both did a great job! Bet you could sell the Palms today if you wanted ;-)
ReplyDeleteHi Gayle and Jim - Thanks! Bob makes it so easy, I enjoyed it. Yes, maybe I could sell The Palms today, but where would I live? LOL Even if/when I get a Park Model, I'll still keep her for vacations - hopefully many vacations - especially to Quartzsite in the winter. I'm enjoying your travels and happy that you and Jeanne are meeting up from time to time. :)
DeleteHow fun! You make living in your home on wheels so easy.
ReplyDeleteYour video will certainly give many gals the boost to get on the road.
I have read your blog for some years now and so enjoyed hearing you
talk and seeing your home. Thanks so much !
Hi Linda - thanks! It really is easy (most of the time). There is the occasional stressful incident, but my friend Jeanne and I always say, "If it doesn't kill you, you'll have a good story to tell!" I think we all have a few good stories, LOL :)
DeleteGreat video! Playing blog catch up. Sorry to hear about Riley give my best to Jeanne when you chat
ReplyDeleteHi Ryan - thanks for your comment. I'll definitely relay your best to Jeanne next time we talk (or e-mail). I'm sure she will appreciate it. Loving your updates on the container project, I can't wait to see your finished home. Bet you can't either! :)
DeleteNow I REALLY feel like I know you. You did a great job describing all the features, and you look fantastic! Love the color of your hair!
ReplyDeleteHi Laurel - thanks! That's my natural color - so much easier! My mom and grandmother had white hair, and I've got the same hair color gene, I guess. Thanks for watching the video, I'm glad you liked it. :)
DeleteI saw your interview with Bob. I love your home and you are a very impressive woman! Thank you so much for sharing with us!
ReplyDeleteThank you, Paula. I enjoyed doing the video with Bob, he made it so easy. I'm glad you liked it. :)
DeleteI finally got to watch the whole video. It was wonderful. I have seen this guy before but your video was much better than the one I saw. You are a natural. I didn't realize you had a rear kitchen. I don't ever think I saw one like that before. Really great feature. I recognized the cabinet the son made and the fence for Katie's yard. Haha. Love her little low growl at all the recording going on. That was really enjoyable. You did good.
ReplyDeleteHi Barbara - Thanks for watching. And for your kind words, too!
DeleteI don't think Katie was growling - I wonder if you aren't hearing the cattle in the background doing some low mooing? I'll have to watch it again and listen carefully... :)
I loved the video, you and Bob did a great job. Loved hearing about how you started Rving and love your "Home". Really like the layout with the kitchen in the back, it does make your living room area a lot larger. Those decorative boxes to store things is a great tip.
ReplyDeleteTake care,
Tina
