Want to see a video of the inside of The Palms? :)

While Jeanne and I were doing our Arizona BLM camping, Bob Wells, from Cheap RV Living, came to visit the group for a couple of days.  He was filming some videos and asked us if we'd like to do some, talk about RVing and maybe show how we live.  Most of us said yes - I was nervous about it, but heck, I wouldn't get this chance again, right?  Bob's a really genuine guy and I was pretty sure he wouldn't post anything that made me or The Palms look bad, or embarrass me.
So, the next morning he came over with his video gear and we filmed.   When we started, I was still nervous, but when he called me Marbara, it  kind of broke the ice.  He said, "Did I just call you Marbara?"   LOL  Then we started again.  He first asked me questions while we were standing outside The Palms, then we went inside and I gave him a tour - for you guys.  :)

When we're in the kitchen, notice the beautiful views out the windows - that's what it's all about!  This is the BLM campground in Camp Verde, AZ where all the cattle were roaming around, and where the hot air balloons were flying overhead and landing nearby.  And listen carefully - you might hear a cow in the background.  You might also hear Cody and Katie "talking."  Katie was right outside the door in her fenced-in area, and I think they were talking to each other.

I think Bob did an excellent job - he made me feel very comfortable.  I really enjoyed showing off The Palms, which - as you all know - I just love.

Thanks, Bob, for including me in your videos and also making it so easy for me.

I enjoyed reading all the comments after I watched the video - there were a lot of them and people seemed to like The Palms, too.  Thank you all for the kind words.  :)

So, if you're interested in watching - here's the link to click on, the title says it all:

Barbara Living Full-Time in her Class C, and Loving it!!

If you watch it, please leave a comment for Bob - and one for me here, too.  I'd love to hear what you thought.  :)

  3. Barbara, I have followed your blog from the beginning and it was really wonderful seeing this video. I remember when your son built the pantry and you discovered the road runner. :) I used to be a full-timer and now I live vicariously thru your blog (and a few others). Thanks so much for sharing.

    1. Thanks for following along for such a long time, JunieLou! Yes, this pantry is such a blessing, and the road runner in the wood is amazing, isn't it? I'm glad I got to show him in the video. :)

    1. Hi Jeri! I know, it's hard to "get it" unless you do it. I knew I wanted to try this lifestyle, but had no idea how I'd do. I lucked out - got the right rig, met a lot of wonderful people, and it's still working for me. Hope you enjoyed the video. :)

  10. What a great tour! You are so articulate, didn't seem at all nervous, and damn it, you don't look old enough to be retired! I just love the Palms and am glad to finally get a look inside.

I "liked" the video but can't comment unless I get an account. I attempted to get one about a year ago and it was so much hassle, plus they wanted to "create a channel" for me, so I just don't comment on youtubes anymore.

    1. Hey, Marty - OMG, I love your comment! I was actually very nervous and wonder if Bob has a filter on his camera, LOL. I had to think for a minute, but I guess you've never been in The Palms because we haven't met in person. I feel like I know you. Glad you liked The Palms. And thanks for "liking" the video! :)

    1. Thanks, Donna. I probably should have brought Katie in the house, but it seemed easier to have her in her little fenced area outside. But at least she's at the very start of the tour. Glad you enjoyed the video! :)

  13. Wow Barbara, this is great! I am parked next to Bob and Judy now at the RTR in Flag. I will tell him tomorrow what a great job he did. And you my dear look fantastic! When I first started following your blog in 2011, you had short hair. I'm glad I watched this video or I wouldn't recognize you if our paths ever cross - which I hope they do. HugZ to you and Katie from me, Nonni & Bentley.

    1. Hi Debra! I know - my hair is so long now. One VERY BAD haircut a few years ago, and I decided NO MORE HAIRCUTS. I think I look better with short hair, but... I have to say long hair is so easy. I was surprised. People usually recognize me after they see Katie. LOL Have a great time at the RTR. I'll bet the weather there is perfect right now. :)

  14. As I was watching and you were talking about your first trip, up the coast and then down into AZ, little bells were going off in my head, & I thought I know who this is, the one with Katie, the dog! Your blog was the first one I found when I started thinking of getting an RV when I retire. I learned so much, going back to the beginning of your blog and reading it all, and taking notes. I retire in 20 months and am paying off everything so I will be debt free when I buy my RV and hit the road with my small dogs. I'm going to travel more than you do but spend the a lot of time like you in AZ & NM. I'm from the North East & I am so ready to get away from winters. You don't write in your blog as often anymore but I do want to thank you for the blueprint of my dreams and I will avoid some pitfalls that newbies make because of reading your blog. I love your little Katie.

    1. Cheryl, I'm so happy to hear your story. I did the exact thing with a couple of blogs I started following long before I got The Palms and started full-timing. Since you started reading blogs early, you'll be ahead of the game when you head out. Good luck - I hope we meet up down the road. :)

    1. Hi Gayle and Jim - Thanks! Bob makes it so easy, I enjoyed it. Yes, maybe I could sell The Palms today, but where would I live? LOL Even if/when I get a Park Model, I'll still keep her for vacations - hopefully many vacations - especially to Quartzsite in the winter. I'm enjoying your travels and happy that you and Jeanne are meeting up from time to time. :)

  22. I finally got to watch the whole video. It was wonderful. I have seen this guy before but your video was much better than the one I saw. You are a natural. I didn't realize you had a rear kitchen. I don't ever think I saw one like that before. Really great feature. I recognized the cabinet the son made and the fence for Katie's yard. Haha. Love her little low growl at all the recording going on. That was really enjoyable. You did good.

    1. Hi Barbara - Thanks for watching. And for your kind words, too!

I don't think Katie was growling - I wonder if you aren't hearing the cattle in the background doing some low mooing? I'll have to watch it again and listen carefully... :)

  23. I loved the video, you and Bob did a great job. Loved hearing about how you started Rving and love your "Home". Really like the layout with the kitchen in the back, it does make your living room area a lot larger. Those decorative boxes to store things is a great tip.

    Take care,

    Tina
