We are happily settled in a great campsite near Sedona, AZ. It's peaceful and quiet here, and really dark at night, which is nice. Except for the moonlight. Yesterday evening we had the most beautiful full moon. I just happened to look outside as it was peeking over the horizon, a huge orange moon. 
I haven't seen a lot of birds in this area, but yesterday this guy landed on my truck mirror and settled into a tree right next to my window. He was really interested in both my truck's side mirrors. It looks like he has whiskers around his beak.
This morning I woke up to the hot air balloon trucks driving past, going into the field near my site. I looked out my bunk window and thought they were landing. I snuggled back under my covers, but then I heard the sounds of the balloons being filled and jumped out of bed and grabbed my camera and went outside.

There is always something Awe-Inspiring about watching Hot-Air Balloons whether they are launching, just gliding or as they land.

ReplyDeleteHey Barbara that spot your in sure looks like the spot we were in back in February of 2014. We had those same balloons landing around us with one missing the Jeeps roof by only a foot or two. Here's a link showing the spot we were in dated February 14th. Maybe it's the same......

You know what, Al? I think you were in a different spot. The balloons land in Sedona, Cottonwood and Camp Verde. I am near Sedona like you were, and that tree looks familiar, but the site is different. Weird. Of course, that was two years ago and things can change fast out here, but this area can fit a bunch of campers. Right now we have 8 or 9 different campsites occupied. We sure aren't alone! I haven't seen Annie for a long time, and didn't know she had that great looking rig! Nice. :)

Those balloons are beautiful, but never, never, never would you get me into one. I have never gotten such a nice moonshot myself!

ReplyDeleteEarly morning is the best time when going on a hot air cappadocia balloon ride as at that time the air is reportedly calmer and pleasant weather which is best for a great balloon ride.
