I hope everyone has a safe and happy 4th of July this year. We have fires in New Mexico and the states around us; I hope no one starts any new fires with fireworks.
We have a lot of smoky air today, the smoke is coming down from Colorado, but there are no fires near Bluewater Lake State Park. Thank goodness. There are still some good campsites available, and it's already after 3:00, which surprises me. I thought we'd be full to overflowing by now. Maybe we will luck out and have a quiet 4th.
The horses were back yesterday. Following are some of the photos I took. The sun going down as I was shooting caused different colors in the horses and surrounding area.
Horse waving his tail was neighing loudly - sounded like he was barking orders.
A scuffle broke out among the adult horses.
Things calmed down, and the baby started nursing.
These eight horses were in one area, moving together. Five adults, one yearling and two foals.
Horses with the dam and house in the background.
BABY PICTURES:
Our time is up again here at Bluewater Lake, so Katie and I are leaving tomorrow to do some blacktop camping. We'll be back.
From me and Katie, enjoy your holiday and stay cool and safe! :)
Oh man! Blacktop jungle! We just finished our stay at a RV park in Hemet, CA....on blacktop. Boy,, was it hot! Be safe traveling! Love the horses photos.
ReplyDeleteAre those wild horses or do they belong to someone?
ReplyDeleteHorses are such magnificent animals! Such grace and beauty. What a cute colt. You got some great photos.
ReplyDeleteHappy Fourth of July!
Hugs to Katie!
I love the wild horses in the west. I remember driving from Las Vegas to Reno one year and we saw a cloud of dust. As it came closer we realized it was a herd of horses...such magnificent creatures. You got some beautiful pictures.
ReplyDeleteWe woke up one morning to a herd that was circling our RV. It was a cool morning so they were in playful moods...was so much fun watching them.
Happy 4th of July! Beautiful horse photos.
ReplyDeleteGreat pictures. Love the one of the colt laying his head against Mommy.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful.. you captured their spirit... what fun
ReplyDeleteHappy 4th!
Great to catch the horses on the 4th.... What a great way to celebrate freedom!
ReplyDeleteThey are so beautiful. And I love the babies. So awkward. I think that the 4th being on a Thursday stopped a lot of people from coming out. I'm sure a lot of folks had to work tomorrow.
ReplyDeleteThank you so much for the beautiful horse pictures.
ReplyDeleteGood shots of the horses. They look in good condition for wild ones.
ReplyDeletewonderful horse photos!
